Best DCC Sound decoder PERIOD
I have installed and changed many DCC decoders in HO scale locomotives. When it comes to the latest generation DCC sound decoders I have found that ESU makes the best products, period. The loksound select direct decoder has the best motor control and sound quality of any DCC sound decoder I have ever seen (and I've seen them all, Tsunami, TCS WOW, etc.). This loksound select direct decoder has built-in resistors for LED lights so you don't have to install resistors separately when you install LED lights like with most other brands of decoder. Great quality, great motor control, great sound, great lighting effects, there's really nothing this decoder can't do better than any other brand.

Best model train speakers.......No other brand is even close
I've installed many DCC sound decoders and I know that the speaker you use can either make or break the quality of the sound, REGARDLESS of what type or brand of DCC sound decoder you use. These little ESU 50321 sugar cube speakers are the only speakers I install in my trains. I can tell you the sound quality is astonishing considering how tiny these little speakers are, they're as loud and crisp as a speaker 3 times their size. I also like that fact that you can customize the baffle for these speakers and make it either smaller or larger in both height and footprint, and you can also buy two of these speakers and combine them into one baffle when you want dual speakers. ESU is leading the industry right now with their DCC decoders and their speakers are just as high quality as the rest of their products. Don't waste your money on the cheap knock-off brands of sugar cube speakers, get the ESU!
