The best feature of this keyed entry lock is that it must be unlocked in order to turn the handle from the inside. You can't lock yourself out with this as you can with so many other keyed entry locks whose inside handles can be turned when the handle is locked.......you close the door behind you.....your locked out in the cold, again! Another "key" feature for us is that it is a lever, not a knob, which is easier to open for arthritic hands or for anyone with their hands full. Also it is handsome, sturdy, easy to install, and can be used on a RH or LH door. It can be confusing trying to determine if a door is RH or LH. This is how you do it: Stand on the outside of the door, for doors between rooms inside your house stand on the side of the door that allows the door to swing open away from you. If you grab the doorknob with your right hand to open the door so it swings away from you toward the right (clockwise) then it is a RH door. If you grab the doorknob with your left hand to open the door so it swings away from you to the left (counter clockwise) then it is a LH door. Hope this helps. I like this door lever so much that I'm replacing all my entry doors with the same kind.
