Incredible card that is too big for most cases but that just makes for a deal and a challenge.
When it comes to cases I'm old fashioned, I still have an Antec Alien case and when last year I bought the Asus Strix 970 I saw that cards were getting longer and that I may have to modify my case soon. Then a friend bought the Zotac GTX 1070 Amp Extreme and could not use it due to its sheer size. I took his system home and came up with a solution, I drilled out the rivets holding the internal drive bay in and removed it from his Antec Quietcase P150.
Then I installed a dual 2.5" drive dock and upgraded him to a 500gb SSD and a 500gb laptop drive for personal files and swap file. The card fit and his 1000W power supply was more than adequate, I was thrilled with the performance.
So I checked ebay and was shocked to see so many for sale with descriptions including words like "untested" and "buyers remorse" and "store return". Well here is the reason, our eyes are bigger than our cases.
I ended up buying one here on eBay no doubt bought new and returned unused due to inadequate space or power to run it. My friends case had 12 rivets to take out but the Antec Alien had only two and I only lost the one lower drive bay I never used anyway. The card went in with room to spare and now I am running all games at extreme settings and getting frame rates that rarely if ever drop below 60 and frequently are above 100. VRmark says I am more than ready for VR, Oculus wants 88fps and mine are running 100-130.
The card is dead quiet even when the fans are active, the LED lighting system is bright and controllable, the card is sturdy and the design is striking.
The extreme edition is a vengeful card that will reward you but it demands sacrifice of power and space. But you can buy it as open-box unused at 150+ off. That's what makes this card a screaming deal here if you can make space for it.

Way cheaper than a new screen
0 van 1 vinden dit nuttig This cable fixes a problem with some ASUS laptops that causes intermittent video loss when the original cable fails internally from normal use. It does not appear to be an upgraded replacement but rather an identical new replacement and that should work for years.
A customer brought me an ASUS ROG g750js laptop with a screen that shut off when the laptop was opened but turned on just as it was closed making it useless except on an external screen. I took the laptop apart and found that the monitor was fine but the backlight power cable was opening due to a bad screen cable. This one replaces this cable that can go bad from repeated open/close cycles.
There are videos on Youtube for opening the laptop and removing the screen then another video showing how to take the screen apart. If you do this repair keep track of the exterior case screws, interior case screws and screen screws as there are five different sizes of screw on this model and you want to put them back right. Also when you remove the screen plug end of this cable be aware that there is some strong tape holding it in place and you should be very careful removing it so that you do not damage the socket on the screen. Heat the tape lightly with a hair dryer and pull it up very slowly.
You can do this repair if you watch the videos carefully so there are no surprises.

Stitch at your service
What a surpirise to find Stitch as a tape dispenser. It is a welcome addition to my Stitch collection just for the pose but he appears to be part of a desk accessory set as I also found a smaller but similar style card holder of him.
A little pricey since it is only sold in Japan so far but it is of the highest Disney quality.
