Medium BLACK Rubber U Channel Edging Trim Seal 1mm - 2mm from The Metal House
15 apr 2020
A neat trim!
This edging trim is all rubber, reasonably flexible, and firm enough to stay in place on a steel edge during fitting. The steel edge in question was about 1.2 mm thick, so exactly as spec provided. For my application, the trim needed glueing in place, as expected. Provides a neat finish and protects users from sharp edges. Just the job, and at a good price.

Sweet FA: a Nikon enthusiast's view
The FA has been described as Nikon's most advanced 35mm camera, though it doesn't quite offer the widest specification. It was the first (1983) to introduce matrix metering, like the Olympus OM4 which soon followed. The FA's metering system provides the basis for essentially all subsequent Nikon cameras, and is said to be the best available anywhere, even now. Ken Rockwell has reviewed this and the rest of the FA in detail, so I don't need to do that. The FA also offers conventional, centre-weighted metering if you wish, and it switches to this mode in Manual. Key features: The metering works with AI, AIS and AF Nikkor lenses; the FA is said to be able to mount pre-AI lenses as well (I have not checked this - though matrix metering should be ideal for pre-AI lenses in stop-down operation). Electronic shutter speeds range seamlessly from 1 second to 1/4000th, plus B and M250 (a mechanical-only shutter speed that works when the battery is dead), and 1/250th flash sync. The FA offers the same range as the FM2, therefore, though the FE, FE2 and FM3a offer longer fixed speeds of 2, 4 and 8 seconds. The FA's Aperture-priority and Programme modes can support much longer exposure at low light levels, and the FA also offers Shutter-priority. Layout and operation are much like the FE, with the ON switch incorporated into the wind-on lever. It is easy to alternate between the two. The FE2 is fussier to use in comparison, I much prefer FE or FA. Viewfinder display uses LCDs and is a bit more complicated than the FE, not as immediately obvious as its match-needle display, but it's straightforward enough. It's the same circular eyepiece finder as the rest of the Nikon F range, FE, FM etc. I like the screw-on handle (though the screw head is not too comfortable on the finger tips - I may take a file to smooth it a bit) that became inbuilt in the F3 and F301 and forms the battery holder in AF cameras - makes it very easy to hold and carry ready for use. The FA is very rugged and weighs in, loaded but without lens, at 700g; the FE for comparison is 50g lighter and noticeably more compact. Both will take motor drives. Conclusion: A really stunning camera, absolutely ground-breaking, with great specification. It has a good feel, solid and very usable, whilst satisfying one's techno-freak tendencies. The FA is not as highly-sought after as the FM3a, so you get a lot more camera for your money, however iconic the FM3a may be. What could be better? Well....., maybe....., what about an F301? Lacks one of the FA's programme modes, only runs to 1/2000th, has only centre-weighted metering, will not mount pre-AI lenses, but still offers full manual operation. And IN ADDITION, you get inbuilt motor drive, DX film recognition and automatic film loading for a similar all-up weight (750g with 4xAA batteries). And in terms of eBay pricing, you'd buy 3 or 4 good F301s for the cost of an FA, or 15 or 20 F301s for the cost of an FM3a. I think they are only so cheap because Ken Rockwell never reviewed one!! Hmmmmmm...... something to think about!!! 886richardf March 2010

Apple Lightning To USB Cable ,1M iPhone Charger Cable Charging Lead with Boxed

Does the job
Not the cheapest available, but seems to be well made. Works OK, we have had third-party Apple leads that made poor connections, but so far, this one is good. The storage case is nice, but difficult to wind the flex tight enough to fit in. Only downside was that the packaging was completely torn open in transit and was delayed several days, probably stuck in a PO machine. Surprisingly, it arrived OK and undamaged. Need to use a jiffy bag, not just a plastic sleeve envelope.
