"Compelling."--"Publishers Weekly "After five years working on Washington, I knew there was a story to tell about his reliance on spies during the revolutionary war. But I believed the story could never be told because the evidence did not exist. Well, I was wrong, and Alexander Rose tells this important story with style and wit."-- Joseph J. Ellis, "Author of His Excellency: George Washington "Think of Alan Furst with muskets. ... Making brilliant use of documentary sources, Rose gives us intrigue, crossed signals, derring-do, and a priceless slice of 18th-century life."--Richard Brookhiser, author of "Founding Father: Rediscovering George Washington, "Compelling."--"Publishers Weekly" "After working on Washington, I knew there was a story to tell about his reliance on spies during the Revolutionary War. I was excited to receive this, but very disappointed. The description said "Leather" and the box says, "Bonded Leather" which is a totally different item cover. "Bonded should be added to the description for transparency. Leather lasts longer, especially for heavy use. Now, having said that, the positives! This Bible is brand new in shrink wrap as shown. It also was a very low price, as many hardcovers sell for the same. Still a super bargain with free shipping. Overall, very pleased. A+++
