A wide aperture Newtonian reflector is the type of system that allows much more light to enter the telescope than you might expect. The focal length is 1000mm. It has a 100mm to 150 mm aperture and features a 3X Barlow lens that triples the magnification of the eyepieces. This means that you are able to make out deep-sky objects that would otherwise be invisible. An easy object to check out with the Celestron PowerSeeker is the moon.
