Verkoopvoorwaarden
By placing any order with us either verbally, via email, via site order or in any other way, you are agreeing to these t&c s. These t&c s may differ from many others as a reclaimed floor is a specialised and pre used. Please read these t&c s and ensure you are happy with them prior to placing any order with us. Thank you.

Our aim is that every customer will be happy with the service purchased from us. It is highly unlikely that you will ever have to refer to these t&c s again, but this is something we have to list to protect you as a buyer and us as a seller. They have been described in a way that we deem to be user friendly in order for you to clearly understand them and the product that you are purchasing. These t&c s should prevent any misunderstanding. Please read carefully and consult us should you require any further details before purchasing. These t&c s form a legally binding contract and by purchasing any product you as a customer are agreeing to these t&c s. These t&c s do not preclude your legal rights.

Prices:

The prices payable for the products that you order are set out on our web, prices are a guide only and cannot be relied on as correct. This is due to the fact that our stock changes daily and is reclaimed and not from a production line. Prices from our site are a guide only and you should contact us prior to making a purchase. We send your order as soon as possible; the lead time will be advised upon placing the order. Order preparation may sometimes run over, this can sometimes not be helped, we do not accept any responsibility for loss due to an order being late. We advise that you DO NOT book a fitter until your floor is at your premises. If we cannot dispatch within the lead time given we will inform you via email of an expected dispatch date. If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply you with a particular item, we will notify you as soon as possible offering an alternative product/delivery date, or a full refund. We may if requested store products for a certain amount of time.

Delivery:

The delivery charges vary subject to the charges that our carrier will charge us to deliver your purchase to you.

Once parcels/pallets are with the carrier, they are out of our control and we cannot be held responsible for any consequent delays. Nor can we be held responsible for any late /missed collections in most cases, we will wait until 6:30pm for the couriers to arrive for your pallets, we will then usually and if possible call the pallet company for an ETA, if we are not able to reach the pallet company, we will wait for next day collection. Once the goods have left us and are out for delivery, If nobody is at the given address when the carrier delivers, they will leave a card or phone phone to arrange an alternative delivery day. Please respond immediately to any missed calls from the courier /delivery company. If a parcel/pallet is returned to the depo or to us undelivered, carriers impose a return charge which we regretfully have to pass on to the purchaser if it becomes clear that the address details given were not correct or the customer was uncontactable. The couriers do not give a delivery time, all they can advise is between 8am and 6pm, you are able to call the courier to ask for an ETA.

Pallets can only be delivered to a kerbside and the couriers WILL NOT help carry the goods in to your property/building. In most cases, the courier (if possible) may pull the pallet in to a garage if the ground allows. Please make provisions to cover your pallet in case of adverse weather. It is important to understand that once the goods have left us via a courier, we are not responsible for the goods in transit or delivery times etc.

Always check the goods on receipt and inform us of any obvious damage following inspection and do not accept the delivery. Always check the goods on receipt and do not accept unless the good are the same product ordered. Do not fit any goods that are not the same as you ordered or goods that fall outside of the t&c s listed herein. No refund will be offered once goods have been fitted or altered. If there is any obvious cosmetic external damage to the goods at the time of delivery, we ask you to note this on the delivery terminal/paperwork and refuse the delivery. Risk to the goods shall pass to the buyer upon delivery or collection. Once goods have been accepted we cannot offer any refund due to the nature of the goods.

If the goods are being delivered to a care off address, please ensure the recipient is aware of the t&c s.

If you the customer arrange the collection/delivery of the goods or service we have provided, the above Delivery Options are null and void –

Customer Arranged Collection and Delivery:

We shall contact you and let you know when your pallet/product is ready for collection.

It is then the customer’s responsibility to arrange their own collection via a courier, Pallet Company or collect their self. We must advise that we only use www.ukpallets.co.uk who are part of the palletways network. The vehicles they use for the collections are the only vehicles that are able to maneuver around our yard. We have found Palletways to be the most cost effective and most reliable pallet shipping company. As a good will gesture, if you can find a pallet company any cheaper, we will price match ad offer a refund on the dufference (for deliveries to UK Mainland addresses only). The booking system is very simple and upon ordering we do send the booking instructions via email.

If the customer is collecting themselves, we must have at least 4 day’s notice on top of the original lead time to pack up the goods in to suitable packaging to load in to your vehicle. Parquet flooring will be placed in to black sacks to enable the customer to load in to their vehicle only. It is then the customer’s responsibility to unload the parquet once at their destination. Once the flooring is loaded in to the customer’s vehicle, the safety and wellbeing of the product is passed to the customer.

If the customer arranges a courier or pallet company to collect, we will secure the product to the pallet as best as possible with shrink wrap and usually banding. The safety and well being of this product passes to the customer as soon as the goods are loaded on to the courier’s vehicle or pallet wagon.

Whether we send out the flooring via pallet company, or you arrange the delivery, we are not held responsible for any damage to the pallet or items on it. The pallet delivery company / courier offer insurance (at a cost). If you would like to take advantage of this, please let us know and if we are booking the delivery to you, we can obtain an insurance qoutation.

ONCE ANY PRODUCT IS CORRECTLY LABELED, OFF THE GROUND AND LOADED ON TO THE DELIVERY VEHICLE, THE DELIVERY COMPANY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR GOODS. WE CAN NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANY DELAY, DAMAGE, LOST OR MISSING GOODS, NOR CAN WE BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DELIVERY TO ANY INCORRECT ADDRESS (PROVIDING WE CAN SHOW GOOD CAUSE THAT THE PALLETS WERE CORRECTLY LABELLED).

Product dimensions, weights and colours:

It is important to note that the product dimensions do not include any protruding features such as tongues, dowelles, handles or fixings etc unless described.
Whilst we try to be as accurate as possible, all sizes, weights and measurements quoted on this website or verbally are approximate and we shall not be held responsible for any errors in the dimensions displayed on our website.
Images of all the products shown on this website are for illustrative purposes only. We have made every effort to display all product colours accurately but we cannot guarantee that the image displayed on your computer monitor will accurately reflect the true colour or tone of the product delivered to you. Wood is natural and therefore one piece may vary in colour/size to the next piece.

Bitumen Removal, T&G or Tongue Removal, Surface Sanding, Edge Trimming, De-nailing, Alterations to Flooring Sizes.

Some of our reclaimed flooring is offered in original reclaimed condition, meaning:

Parquet Flooring – Usually removed from building and has a layer of bitumen on the underside. The surface will usually have numerous layers of varnish on, sometimes, adhesive, remnants of carpet, screed, self leveller or other matter. T&G blocks will usually have grime and matter to all 4 edges/ends/sides, which will have seeped into the groove and under/above the tongue.

Bespoke Service on Reclaimed Parquet Floor/Strip Flooring or Floorboards and accuracy of dimensions: The amount of bitumen removed and the sanding of the surface can not be guaranteed as to be uniform on each piece. There may be variations in the thickness of 2 to 7mm and this is common with any reclaimed floor. We will usually advise during your order if there is much of a thickness variation with the depth.

We remove the bitumen from the Parquet freehand either by scraping the bitumen or hand held on a machine. We can therefore not guarantee that the exact amount of bitumen left on each Parquet block will be the same, this includes the thickness of each parquet block, this cannot be guaranteed. There will ALWAYS be remnants of bitumen left on the block where the machine may have missed - this is expected.

(WE NO LONGER OFFER T&G CLEANING) We do however offer outer edge cleaning on the 3 straight sides of a t&g block and 4 sides of a straight edge block. We cannot guarantee that we won t slightly alter the width of the block whilst cleaning the outer edges. We cannot guarantee that there won t be traces of bitumen left of the outer edges of the blocks. We do not offer bitumen removal on any recess.

We surface strip each Parquet block by hand or run over a planer, we cannot guarantee that we can remove the all traces of varnish, dirt, grime or debris – We do not provide a fine sanding finish, your block may have some scratch marks, blade lines or in the surface that the sanding material we use has left, this is nothing that will not sand out once it is secured back to the ground and sanded industrially with the correct floor sander and abrasive. We cannot guarantee that each Parquet block piece will be the exact same thickness as we free hand this.

We can remove the tongue of Parquet Flooring blocks, again, this is done on a machine . We cannot guarantee that each piece will be of exactly the same measurement and very small areas of tongue may still remain. We do not remove the 3 grooves to the ends or side.

De-nailing – Any Parquet Block, Floorboard or Length of Strip Flooring which has been nailed has been done so by hand with the naked eye – although we endeavor to remove 100% of nails, staples or tacks from timber, we cannot guarantee that there will not be tacks or nails left in there.

Any material – but mainly strip flooring has that been secretly nailed in the past, has been done so through the t&g. We de-nail these by cutting off the exposed nail that is usually visible underneath the board – we do sometimes pull fully our or twist the end of the nail If de-nailing has been requested on strip flooring, you will receive the strip flooring with the head of the nail still in the tongue, but the flooring is still suitable to fit without having to remove this remnant of nail. You may have to nail punch or hammer the odd piece when fitting.

By purchasing bitumen removal, surface stripping, de tonguing, edge cleaning or de nailing, you are agreeing to the above.

Product Sample

Where the Buyer has been shown or sent a sample we do not undertake that the bulk shall correspond with the sample in colour, exact dimensions or quality. It is suggested that the Buyer views and examines the bulk stock in person prior to ordering. No piece of new or reclaimed flooring or natural flooring is exactly uniform in colour, size or weight.

Product condition

Whilst we try to be as accurate as possible with our product descriptions it has to be remembered that architectural salvage is, by nature, aged, and therefore will more than often have marks and imperfections, commensurate with age and wear. Many items are made from natural materials that contain marks and blemishes due to the nature of that material, so it is important that you study the photographs or samples of a product before you purchase it, as there are no returns on any item that has had the bitumen removed, or any other service to order. Where we offer any extra service FREE of charge, this is still classed as a bespoke service and does not qualify for cancelation or refund. The condition of batches will vary, partial amounts of blocks in the same batch may have had the surfaces roughly planed to clean them and others will be original with lacquer, it is important that tell us if you are wanting all the original surfaces leaving. We usually partially plane the surfaces if lots of bitumen has transferred to the when being transported.

We cannot guarantee that any reclaimed floor purchased unsanded on the surface by a consumer is free of the following: moisture, previous water damage, filler, tack nails, small holes, variation in grain, black marks where nails have been and colour and variation in species, variation in overall size (depth, width, length). Most of the floors that we sell come bearing several layers of lacquer/wax/varnish/oil from where the floors were originally laid, some stock may have adhesive, screed and small amounts of debris over the surface - most of which sand off once fitted. Please remember that it is a reclaimed floor that you are purchasing, some of which may be over 130 years old, if you have any doubts whatsoever in regards to the suitability, it is up to yourself to come and view the product in person before making an order with us. If you are looking for perfect floor, please consider new flooring. We do not hold ourselves responsible for any of the aforementioned imperfections. Even where we have stripped back the surface on any flooring, you can still expect imperfections as aforementioned.

Refunds/Returns Policy For Non Bespoke Items:

Refunds will be processed within 28 days from the date of cancelation. Please inspect goods on receipt. If you wish to cancel your non bespoke - uncleaned order, you will receive a full refund minus a charge of a 60% re stocking fee. Where NON BESPOKE goods have been delivered to you, you must inform us of your decision to cancel within 14 days from the date of delivery providing the goods are returned in the condition in which they were sold and in original packing. Where samples have been received or you have viewed the stock, we are not under obligation to refund, we may however offer a replacement, again, this only applies to uncleaned flooring. Under the terms of the distance selling directive you as the customer have a duty of care for the product whilst it is in your possession. Therefore, we reserve the right to refuse cancellation, or charge you for any damage that has occurred whilst the goods have been in your possession. Postage and packing costs cannot be refunded and the cost of the return postage must be paid for by the customer. This does not affect your statutory rights. Non bespoke items are classed as items that have not been altered from original condition. Therefore, flooring that applies are as follows: Parquet that has not had any cleaning services performed. If we do remove any excess lumps of bitumen from parquet flooring or debris stuck to the underside like concrete or screed, therefore making the item bespoke. If you wish to be covered by the distant selling act, please inform us before ordering and we will not do any works to the flooring.

Exchanges

Where the customer is not covered by the distance selling act we may at our discretion exchange goods or try to resell the goods on the customers behalf. This can either be done with the flooring still at your premises or it can be sent back to us. We do however not put any time frame on re-selling of goods. Customer to pay additional postage costs if sending the items back and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to sell the product at the same price as purchased. Storage charges may apply.
