This work is based on a story taken from the most important work of the Spanish language literature, the Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote de la Mancha by don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. It is in the First chapter of the Second part that the barber tells Don Quixote a story about The Madhouse of Seville.It was during the search for a short tale that could serve as the basis for the theatrical script I wanted to compose that I realized that don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, besides having many literary talents, since he dominated all the literary styles of his time, he also exhibited a fine and abundant humor. I understood, at age eighteen years old when I wrote this play, that almost every adventure of Don Quixote was a story that could culminate in something comical that would inevitably make the reader laugh. The genius of don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, lies in his precise and detailed description of the situations he creates, thus transforming readers into spectators while slowly building up the perfect environment to culminate in a hilarious situation. The combination of the materialism of Sancho Panza and the idealism of Don Quixote is a representation of the balance of character between material reality and idealistic unreality in the human being. Retrospectively, I remember working a great deal because I did not have a computer to facilitate my work in those days, and my university studies also demanded my attention. Without doubt, the most notable work was to preserve the style of don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, and the geo-political and chronological correlation necessary. Every word and sentence of this work was included after making sure it belonged to the language used then and to the style with which Don Quixote de La Mancha was written, which was not an easy task. I hope the reader appreciates the tremendous task I took at an early age to produce "The Madhouse of Seville".****************************Este guión esta basado en un cuento tomado de la obra cumbre de la literatura de la lengua Española, El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha por don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. Es en el Primer capitulo de la Segunda parte que el barbero relata a Don Quijote un cuento en relación a La Casa de Locos de Sevilla.Fue durante la búsqueda de una corta historia que sirviera de base al guión teatral que yo buscaba componer, cuando comprendí que don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra además de tener muchos talentos literarios, pues dominaba todos los estilos literarios de su época, también tenia un humor muy fino y abundante. Comprendí, a la edad de diez y ocho años cuando escribí este trabajo, que casi cada aventura de Don Quijote era una historia que culminaría en algo cómico, en una situación graciosa que inevitablemente haría reír al lector. La genialidad de don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, radica en su descripción tan precisa y detallada de las situaciones que crea transformando lectores en espectadores y va lentamente construyendo el ambiente perfecto para culminar en una situación cómica. La combinación del materialismo de Sancho Panza con el idealismo de Don Quijote, es una representación del balance de carácter entre la realidad material e irrealidad idealista en el ser humano. Retrospectivamente, recuerdo haber trabajado mucho pues en esos días no tuve una computadora que me facilitara el trabajo y mis estudios universitarios demandaban atención igualmente. Sin duda, el trabajo mas notable fue el de preservar el estilo de don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra y la necesaria correlación geo-política y cronológica. Cada palabra y oración de este trabajo fue incluida después de asegurarme que pertenecía al lenguaje usado entonces y al estilo con que se escribió Don Quijote de La Mancha, lo cual no fue una tarea fácil. Ojala el lector aprecie la tremenda tarea que realice a mi temprana edad para producir "La Casa de Locos de Sevilla".
