Students learn about project design, the Visual Basic toolbox, and many elements of the BASIC language. Numerous examples are used to demonstrate every step in the building process. The tutorial also includes several detailed computer projects for students to build and try. These projects include a number guessing game, a card game, an allowance calculator, a drawing program, a state capitals game, Tic-Tac-Toe and even a simple video game. VISUAL BASIC FOR KIDS is presented using a combination of over 450 pages of color notes and actual Visual Basic examples. This teacher or parent facilitated material should be understandable to kids aged 12 and up. No programming experience is necessary, but familiarity with doing common tasks using a computer operating system (simple editing, file maintenance, understanding directory structures, working on the Internet) is expected. VISUAL BASIC FOR KIDS requires a Microsoft Windows operating system and the free Community Edition or Professional Edition of Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 (or greater) available from Microsoft. Great and unique vendor! Very responsive! I would buy textbooks again directly from Philip Conrod. The textbook was Brand New, as advertised, and came bundled with the downloadable source code and multimedia files. Other booksellers couldn't provide the "original" bundled code or multimedia files as they sell used or pre-owned books. It was a very fun and unique experience purchasing the textbook direct from the author himself! Highly Recommended!
