Students will be drawn to the eye-catching covers exploring the various people featured and concluding with a timeline found at the end of each volume. Significant facts for each of those decade years are found in the timeline. Students can easily peruse the volumes, maneuvering through the subject-driven chapters. The chapters begin with an editorial-like set of statements that propel students to explore the chapter's subject. While each specific subject is not treated in-depth it does give enough information to capture the essence of the topic. Each date-specific sidebar, found alongside many of the photographs, allows the reader to take a more personal look at that photograph. Sub-headings are bolded and can be easily found in the index using a key word search. In addition, numbered pages contain the subject alongside that page number making it easy for the reader to remember which subject they are researching. A comprehensive index, further readings, and Internet addresses can be found in each series volume.
