The peltier module in the center has been super effective at keeping my Asus ROG Strix 17" gaming laptop about 8 to 10 °F cooler than it was with standard fan coolers. It is an incredible value in today's cooler market. As to appearance the led lighting is on the muted side and perfect for me, as many led coolers can be super bright and on the gaudy side. The 16in fit well but it definitely is too small for the 17in laptop, it balances down on the back end, I had to add support boxes on the back to keep it from tiping over the back. At first it seems to do nothing, but the cooling part will work within 20 or 30 minutes. So far, no regrets with this. Communication with the seller was top notch, and were very helpful on making sure this was right for my laptop.
