Item was new and still sealed in the original box. Typical Sabrent quality, its good gear and pairs well with my Sabrent enclosures. It was well packaged and shipped quickly. Appears to be as listed, "new - open box". No signs that it was ever installed in a machine; it looks new. Hopefully the SMART data is accurate and has not been tampered with. Time will tell. If accurate, this is a great deal, especially for someone with an older machine that only has pcie 3 available. I may pick up another for a different machine I have.

Although the packaging had been opened and resealed, the seller included all documentation. 4 stars just because of mismarking. Shipping was reasonable. All in all this seems to be a good purchase. Seller responded quickly when I communicated with him on another sale. Didn’t need communication with this purchase.
