If you are using OCLP you have to know what you are doing though... My kids are extremely happy that they can now use my hand-me-down UAD Apollo x8 interfaces! I've moved on from UAD and use "higher-caliber" interfaces now, but still do use multiple PCie OCTO cards in a Thunderbolt expansion chassis on my Windows machine (we prefer Windows in our studio setup).

After attaching the jumper and plugging in USB header into the motherboard, the device worked without and special configuration in my Hackintosh. One minor caveat is that it seems hot-plugging wasn't working in my setup. I assume this is either because if a missing configuration on my end or a limitation in the nature of hackintoshing. Considering how niche a product this is, the price feels fair. Overall I'm satisfied.

I fully recommend buying if you don't own a steam deck, especially if you want an upgraded storage. Even if you do own a steam deck and want another one, but upgraded.
