When you’re looking at an image in the organizer and you want to use the app, you just easily export the image into the editor to work on it. The editor portion of Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 is where all the work is done. It’s divided into three sections that cater to your level of proficiency: Quick, Guided, and Expert. You can easily move between the three modes while editing. Quick mode gives you a handful of tools to work with selection, redeye, tooth brightening, text, and healing. You also see other simple controls like color adjustment, smart fix, and exposure. In Guided mode, all the panels and tools are hidden from view, except for one. This provides a series of options to choose from, including touchups, photo effects, and photoplay. When you select one, you’re guided through the process of editing your image. Expert mode lets you play around with many more options, and it gives you layers to work with, just as you would in the full version of Photoshop CS. When you switch from Guided to Expert, you will see that your effects and events created different layers, which can be helpful tool when you’re trying to learn how the effects are created.
