Finally, the leather burnishing was poorly done. Whereas I purchased these shoes for regular use at the office, they will be limited.

Was able to glue the band that held the tassel together. Will not wear white socks until red dye wears off. I like the style of the shoes and shoe material seems satisfactory. I am sure that my issues will be addressed with a little more attention to quality control. Thank you for your prompt response.
