The first Google Coral AI USB Accelerator was DOA -- the white LED on the back should've lit up when plugging it in to a Mac (even with a USB type A to type C adapter), and it just stayed off. The 2nd Coral worked. It requires careful setup: I think Google abandoned the project around 2022, and so when following the tutorial (https: coral.ai/docs/accelerator), you have to use Python 3.9 (current Python is 3.13) and `export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib` .

Item came in new sealed condition as expected. After testing with Frigate, appears to work as expected helping to greatly reduce the inference latency compared to just using the CPU. All in all great deal on a piece of hardware that can punch above its weight for a fraction of the energy cost when it specifically comes to ML Inferencing tasks within it's defined specs.

I didn't realize it was not for LLMs but I programed a work around and now it works great for LLMs.
